MonitorPatch
r1, 2005-10-13About
MonitorPatch is an unofficial patch for the Monitor application that comes with WebObjects. This patch is unauthorized and Apple should not be bothered with any issues related to using it. MonitorPatch has only received minimal testing on Mac OS X using WebObjects 5.2.3 and 5.3. That being said, my guess is it'll work with most recent versions of WebObjects because Monitor hasn't changed much.
Features
- Added direct actions for starting and stopping instances. The motivation was to be able to create scripts for automated deployments. See direct actions documentation.
- Added gui for starting and stopping all instances of all applications from Monitor's Applications page.
- The list of applications can now be ordered on the Applications page which is useful when Monitor is managing many applications. Please note, though, that saving the new order (i.e. sending it to all configured hosts) will cause wotaskd on these hosts to stop the applications! Unless auto-recover is active, you'd have to manually restart the apps. A Javascript prompt will remind you of this. Without saving, the order will revert once Monitor is restarted.
- When adding a new application on the Applications page fails, a proper error message is now being displayed.
